My first car, a Datsun 240z, ignited my love of cars and incited my career in automotive photography.

I was working in a photo studio as a wedding/portrait retoucher with access to the studio’s cameras. The perfectly balanced design of the 240z was begging to be photographed. I went out to an empty parking lot, with very little skill, in quite possibly the worst photographic conditions (harsh, bright, midday Australian sun), to try and capture the beauty of the Z. It didn’t actually go as badly as it should have. 

The subsequent years of photographing the Z, hanging out at car meets & photographing other peoples cars was the perfect training ground for developing my techniques and style. During this time I was working as a retoucher, developing my Photoshop skills. 

Inevitably this lead to more commercial endeavors and now enjoy photographing and retouching a variety of images in the automotive space.
