ZCCQ Christmas in July

One of The Z Car Club Queensland’s biggest events each year is the Christmas in July run and this year was no exception. Saturday saw 40+ cars navigating around the Sunshine Coast hinterland with clues, directions and challenges meticulously set out by Dave Robertson. Upon arriving at our hotel for the night we were greated with some spectauclar views of the Glasshouse Mountains (as you can see in the pictures) before we set in for our Christmas feast.

I spent most of the day driving but still managed to get a few pictures at a couple of the stops. Thank you to David Robertson and everyone in the ZCCQ who helped organised a fantastic weekend.

Snake & Mongoo$e – Presented by Fuel Magazine

The printed magazine, much like the newspaper, seems to be a dying breed. Magazines on tablets and PC’s seem to be the way of the future with less production costs and more ‘interactive’ content available on demand such as links to videos, suppliers, and further reading etc. But then along comes a magazine that reminds you of what a quality publication feels like and why the digital will never completely replace the physical.

Greazefest 2013 Photos

I had never really been to a kustom kulture type event before so I decided to head along to Greazefest back in early August. The art, styles and fashions of the culture really add an interesting element to what would otherwise be just another car show. All of the cars would have been beautiful restored to their original condition but you get something a little extra at a show like this. Every car seems to have a history, a story, a personality.

The day was pretty miserable and I’d hoped the rain would keep the crowds to a minimum but there were so many people I could barely get a clear shot! Here are just a few from the day…

Z Spotting

I was in Melbourne for some Adobe courses and spotted this Z in the middle of town. I managed to snap this pic on my phone…

I like the line on the building in the background ‘building on the past, preserving for the future’, seems quite relevant for anyone who owns & maintains a classic car.

RACQ MotorFest 2012

This was my first year at RACQ MotorFest and wow what a show! Just when I thought I had seen all there was to see I would find another pocket of cars behind a building or around the corner. Unfortunately on the day my camera battery didn’t have much life left in it so I only managed to snap a few pics. I’m looking forward to going back next year with a fully charged battery!
